the girl who made stars
The fire, the wind, the stars, and the girl all knew the magic within the light. The world was no longer dark and lonely,
for the girl had discovered how to create her own light in the darkness. With each night that she made new stars,
the sky grew brighter and more beautiful.

This story developed in preparation for a picture book I plan to write. Yes, I know that almost all cultures that appreciate stories have at least one story about a girl who makes stars, and yet, here is another one of those stories.
"For as long as I can remember — and certainly long before I had the term for it — I’ve believed that creativity is combinatorial, that nothing is entirely original and everything is the result of variations on existing ideas." Maria Popova

The Girl Who Made Stars tells the story of a young girl who finds light in the darkness by creating her own stars.
In a time when the night sky was dim and lonely, the girl would start a fire each evening, finding comfort in its warmth and glow.
As she watched the flames, she noticed how the sparks resembled stars and began throwing the ashes into the sky, where they floated and spiralled, eventually becoming stars themselves. Each night, she repeated this ritual, determined to fill the universe with light, showing how hope and magic can be born even in the darkest times. ISBN: 9798392112708
Also available in German: Das Mädchen das Sterne machte ISBN: 9798392691524
